I direct\u00a0the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sbs.ox.ac.uk\/programmes\/degrees\/msc-financial-economics\">MSc in Financial Economics<\/a> programme and co-direct the (part-time, hybrid) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sbs.ox.ac.uk\/programmes\/degrees\/msc-applied-financial-economics\">MSc in Applied Financial Economics<\/a> which is launching in May 2026.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m an associate editor at the <a href=\"https:\/\/direct.mit.edu\/rest\/pages\/editorial-info\">Review for Economics and Statistics<\/a> and at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/journal\/games-and-economic-behavior\/about\/editorial-board\">Games and Economic Behavior<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cs.princeton.edu\/~smattw\/\">Matt Weinberg<\/a> and I serve as the Program Chairs of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sigecom.org\/events.html#ec\">EC&#8217;26<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>My current research interests lie mainly in market and mechanism design. I am also interested in environmental economics and I co-lead the Finance Theme at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.naturerecovery.ox.ac.uk\/\">Leverhulme Centre for Nature Recovery<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I often advise companies, governments and NGOs on auction and market design.<\/p>\n<p>I am also co-founder of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.resettlement.tech\/\">Refugees.AI<\/a>, an organisation that is developing new technology for refugee resettlement (originally funded by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sbs.ox.ac.uk\/faculty-research\/skoll\/what-we-do\/research\/research-accelerator-grants\/will-jones-and-alexander-teytelboym-implementing-local-refugee-match\">Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship<\/a>).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m a Professor of Economics\u00a0at the\u00a0Department of Economics, University of Oxford,\u00a0 Fellow by Special Election\u00a0at\u00a0St. Catherine&#8217;s College (where I was a Tutorial Fellow from 2017 until 2024), and a Professorial Research Fellow at the Institute for New Economic Thinking at the Oxford Martin School.
